Description
This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with both fleet regulatory requirements and best practices related to the company's fleet operations. The primary focus will be to implement, analyse and monitor fleet maintenance and service programs that maintain safety standards, reduce risks, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance for all aspects of fleet operations.
This role follows a hybrid schedule, Monday through Friday, with three days onsite. It may also involve up to 25% travel depending on business needs.
Responsibilities
This role will support Purolator’s Fleet strategic and tactical goals such as:
- Implement, analyse and monitor policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, provincial/state, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices as related to the maintenance and safety of Purolator Fleet.
- Support training programs for fleet personnel, ensuring all employees are knowledgeable about and compliant with applicable regulations and safety requirements.
- Develop, implement support material on Fleet Maintenance Management Systems procedures & monitor compliance that support technicians, admin’s and Fleet Operations Managers’ (FOM) efficiency.
- Establish and maintain relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) to train fleet personnel in order to increase in-house repairs, increase warranty recovery while staying updated on changes to vehicles, procedures, regulations and communicating those changes to relevant Purolator Fleet stakeholders.
- Monitor compliance and analyze fleet-related data to identify areas for improvement, enhance operational efficiency, and support decision-making processes.
- Conduct regular Purolator garage and 3rd repair facility audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance or potential risks and develop and implement action plans to address any identified issues.
- Manage and maintain necessary records and documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Coordinate with Health & Safety and Learning & Development and lead internal and external audits, serving as a point of contact for auditors and ensuring that audit findings are addressed and resolved.
- Provide regular reporting, insights, recommendations and updates to management, highlighting compliance status, key metrics, and any significant opportunities, risks, challenges & mitigation plans.
- Stay current on emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the fleet management industry, and bring innovative and effective compliance solutions to the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred with 3-5 years of experience in a analytical or compliance role, preferably with a fleet.
- General health and safety knowledge (Ontario OHSA, ESA, CSA, ULC, etc.), National Safety Code Standard 11 on Periodic Fleet Maintenance / Safety inspections.
- Experience in developing & delivering technical projects or programs supporting large teams.
- Experience with Fleet Maintenance Management Systems & Fleet Telematics.
- Knowledge of Canadian automotive regulations and six sigma methodologies.
- Structured thinking to identify opportunities to improve productivity, maintenance practices, courier or technician safety, and operational procedures.
- Strong competency with advanced spreadsheets and database to analyze data and creating KPIs.
- Presentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Knowledge of applicable codes related to electronic engineering.
- Experience in project deployment methods, project management tools.

Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
