Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Sustainability, the Sr. Consultant, Community Investment and Stakeholder Engagement will lead Purolator’s community investment efforts that promote local community engagement and benefit our stakeholders through donations and employee volunteerism. The Sr. Consultant will further develop and execute Purolator’s corporate giving strategy, including establishing strategic pillars that align with Purolator’s values. The Sr. Consultant will lead the national Purolator Tackle Hunger® program, including Tackle Hunger Month in June, CFL Game Day food drives and Red Bag food collection campaigns across the country.

 

Furthermore, the Sr. Consultant will be responsible for implementing and managing Purolator’s social impact platform, and planning and delivering employee engagement initiatives.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading national events for the Purolator Tackle Hunger® (PTH) program including:
  • coordinating with marketing, operations, strategic partners and local food banks
  • recruiting PTH champions and organizing volunteers
  • supporting promotional engagements such as Breakfast Television and press conferences
  • collaborating with marketing and corporate communications on PTH communications and collateral
  • Implementing Purolator’s new social impact platform that will be used to manage and advance charitable giving and volunteering across the organization
  • Developing a strategy to evolve our corporate giving and align our philanthropic efforts with Purolator’s values and business objectives
  • Establishing employee engagement initiatives and programs across Canada
  • Maintaining Purolator’s sustainability webpages
  • Working with corporate communications to communicate Purolator’s sustainability performance and achievements to both internal and external audiences
  • Supporting the preparation of Purolator’s annual Corporate Sustainability Report
  • Collaborating with colleagues in communications, marketing, sponsorship and other business units to help drive community investment objectives and priorities
  • Participating in external working groups and associations and sharing key learnings and best practices internally
  • The ability to travel nationally a certain times of year

Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in a relevant field of study - Community Investment, Community Engagement and Development, Social Impact, Sustainability
  • 5+ years of progressive experience leading and executing community investment strategies and programs
  • Experience using community investment programs to support and amplify a sustainability strategy
  • Excellent at cultivating, managing and maintaining trusting relationships with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated success in creating and executing national programs
  • Confidence to work independently and autonomously, self-driven
  • Proven ability to lead teams and maximize their capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented
  • An Influencer with proven ability to persuade and influence others without direct leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organization skills, time management skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities
