Reporting to the National Manager Learning & HR Support, the Talent Acquisition Strategy Lead manages the talent acquisition team responsible for full life-cycle recruiting across all business units by fostering strong partnerships with key stakeholders across Purolator and with Agencies to meet our hiring needs. This role will be responsible for the ongoing operational management and updating of the recruitment and onboarding system (ROC). It will act as the subject matter expert and will be responsible for developing and updating our current processes as it relates to recruitment. The Sr. Consultant Talent Acquisition role is also responsible for the implementation & management of any recruitment programs.

 

Duties will include:

  • Work with leadership to develop Purolator’s talent acquisition strategy and implement. Works with leadership to determine upcoming hiring needs on an ongoing basis by meeting regularly with stakeholders, and forecasts anticipated turnover. Based on planned and forecasted hiring needs, determine optimal staffing for the talent acquisition team, and recommend changes to organizational structure of team to enable the accomplishment of business objectives. Facilitate discussions with key stakeholders and hiring managers to understand position requirements, set expectations, and gather input regarding sourcing approach. Lead the team in managing full life-cycle recruiting across all functional areas, positions, and locations, assign client groups / positions, and coach team members to deliver results and an excellent client and candidate experience. Providing mentorship, guidance and career development to members of your team.
  • Responsible for the updating and management of recruitment systems. Responsible for annual updates, testing, transfer of new knowledge to the HR field team. This may include preparing reports (either ad-hoc or standard reports).
  • Review metrics to identify slowdowns in the recruitment process and make recommendations to improve both quantity and quality of hiring including overall TTF. Work with the business in the development of job descriptions and participate in the job evaluation process for new positions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and act as primary point of contact for relationships related to recruiting and hiring, including agencies, applicant tracking system, community organizations, colleges/universities, and job boards/social media advertising sites
  • Day to day supervision over direct reports
  • Other duties as assigned to support Recruitment needs  

 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or related experience
  • Prior experience recruiting for senior level roles
  • Experience with in house e-recruiting and/or applicant tracking systems
  • Experience participating on a Job Evaluation Committee is considered an asset
  • Experience or exposure to developing a recruitment strategy considered an asset
  • HR designation and/or experience acting as HR generalist or HRBP considered an asset
  • Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Strong analytic and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to influence others, at all levels within the organization, and move towards a common goal
  • Must be fully versed in working with an applicant tracking system (Successfactors, Taleo, Kenexa, etc).
  • Proven prior experience successfully developing and managing a team to support business needs
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Suite of products is required.
