Description
The Manager Ramp Air is responsible for improving operating standards and efficiency by identifying inefficiencies, collecting data, and conducting root cause analysis. They collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions and control plans for implementation. They also focus on promoting customer satisfaction by maximizing freight
connections and ensuring appropriate scanning and communication. Also, accountable for meeting operational targets, including health and safety, productivity, service, and corporate initiatives. They conduct audits of procedures and compliance, actively managing and monitoring operations to ensure they align with formal policies
and procedures.
Responsibilities
Improve operating standards by identifying inefficiencies, performing observations/data collection, performing root cause analysis, works with stakeholders on solutions/controls plans/field management tools for implementation and sustainability
Promote overall customer satisfaction
Ensure that we maximize the connection of freight and when this is not possible to ensure the appropriate scanning and communication is provided (visibility)
Identify and monitor operational indices like delivering results against an agreed upon scorecard
Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate transportation operations
Set operations policies and standards (e.g., safety procedures for the handling of dangerous goods, etc.) and ensure compliance with transport regulations
Monitor service failures and implement corrective action
Requirements

2–3 years of experience managing or supervising employees

Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate knowledge of Excel

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Experience supervising union employees (asset)

Logistics experience (asset)

Strong leadership and motivational skills; energetic leader

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Skilled at coordinating diverse duties and meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments

Consistently presents a professional and positive image

Understanding of ramp operations, air freight movements, and network connectivity, with the ability to optimize freight flow and support on-time network performance

Highschool graduation
Experience
3 years' experience leading/managing in an operational environment
Skills
Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
