Shift: Monday to Friday
Hours: 2:30 am to 9:00 am (6 hours per day, 30 hours per week gauranteed)
Wage: As per collective agreement (Current starting rate is $22.94 per hour with guaranteed annual raises. Current top rate of $29.23 per hour)
Location: Prince George Depot
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs on a regular basis
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check
- Experience with working in a warehouse considered an asset
Description
The AM Sorter sorts and separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules.
Responsibilities
Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks
Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out
Loads freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer
Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles
Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items
Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery
Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
