Job Description:
We are looking for a diesel truck mechanic for our Quebec City location. The diesel mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs designated on-road and off-road equipment to ensure proper vehicle operation and safety, as well as to meet quality, safety, and performance objectives.
Location: 7000 Armand-Viau Street, Quebec City, G2C 2G4
Employment Contract: 40 hours/week
Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
Pay Scale: $38.04 upon hire and $49.00 after 12 months

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on the vehicle fleet;
- Analyze, diagnose, and repair components, among other tasks;
- Order parts;
- Document and update work orders;
- Comply with standards established by manufacturers and Purolator;
- Perform all other tasks related to the smooth operation of the workshop.
Job Requirements:
- Hold a DEP in heavy-duty diesel truck mechanics combined with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of a fleet of trucks and trailers
- Hold a “PEP Card” or possess a certificate of competence issued by the SAAQ (an asset)
- Hold a Joint Committee competency card (an asset)
- Hold a wheel-tightening card (for Ontario) (an asset)
- Hold a Halocarbon (H2) environmental qualification certificate (an asset)
- Knowledge of maintenance and repair of Volvo D13 and Cummins engines, and Volvo iShift and Eaton automated transmissions (a plus)
- Fluency in French
- Good physical strength
- Be responsible and reliable
- Be able to lift heavy weights, up to 70 lbs, alone
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 or 1 is a plus)
- Have 3 years of driving experience with a Class 5 license
- Pass the in-house practical driving test (including defensive driving training tests)
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to learn and improve
- Basic computer skills
***The mechanic must provide his or her own tools
