Job Description

  • The AM Sort Manager will be responsible for the overnight management and supervision of daily activities in Purolator’s warehouse operations. This includes approximately 25 warehouse staff and 2-3 Linehaul drivers. 
  • Recruit, train, coach and manage unionized staff
  • Create a positive work environment, building employee loyalty, and a team atmosphere
  • Scheduling (adjusting for call ins, volume flex)
  • Maintain dock clear times, find solutions to help improve any areas of concern
  • Follow up with any short comings on company KPI’s and corrective action as required
  • TMS and NCC issues that arise (late trailers, load issues)
  • Help develop lead hands
  • Time Management (payroll)
  • Responsible for achieving objectives as outlined in the operational scorecard
  • Improvement of operational standards through reviews of employee performance, coaching, counseling and recognition
  • Responsible for communicating and implementing policies, procedures or programs.
  • Responsible for completing a variety of reports and documentation of unit’s daily operations
  • All other related duties
