Right now, we’re looking for a great person for our Human Resources Business Partner position.  Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner, this position will provide comprehensive generalist HR services in a defined geographic area. The successful candidate will work closely with all levels in the organization to champion employee loyalty and to support Purolator’s culture and values.

Job Description:

  • Work closely with the Senior HR Business Partner, District Managers and local management to champion employee loyalty and to support Purolator’s culture and values
  • Provide support and direction to the local management teams to ensure proper and consistent practice of HR policies and initiatives – focus on recruitment
  • Responsible for providing proactive employee/labour relations, contract interpretation and administration, grievance handling and arbitration preparation. 
  • Assist in areas such as workforce planning, talent management, performance management, attendance management, claims management and accommodation
  • Provide status updates to managers on regional issues and initiatives
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of learning/training initiatives
  • Recruitment and selection
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment
  • Enhance employee equity and diversity
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 1-3 years' experience in an HR generalist role or an exceptional and motivated HR Assistant/Coordinator looking for the next step in their career.
  • Background in recruitment is an asset.
  • HR related degree/diploma
  • Experience and knowledge of labour relations including contract interpretation, as well as other employment legislation
  • Demonstrates high energy, internal motivation
  • Approachable, supportive, visible HR practitioner
  • Skilled persuasive communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels
  • Resourceful, flexible, innovative
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
  • Possessing or working towards a CHRP designation is considered an asset
