Description
This position is responsible for managing the Control Room, to provide a seamless communication link from the Warehouse/Sort facility to Linehaul Control and Field Operations.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategies with yard operations to ensure safe coordination of vehicles in and out of the yard
• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the control room
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for control room to function effectively and efficiently
• Manage administration and operating standards including, budget planning, analyzing reports regarding control room productivity standards.
• Oversee the service delivery of the control room to the Warehouse/Sort facility and field operations
• Oversee the completion of timely ISO Audits within the control room
• Manage escalations within the control room
• Manage the execution of projects related to the control room
• Responsible for achieving objectives as outlined in the operational scorecard.
• Work with key stakeholders and drive continuous improvement within the control room
• Provide direction, leadership, and coaching to teams
Additional Responsibilities
• Post-secondary qualification in business
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory and/or management role leading 10 to 13 employees
• 5 years’ control room experience
• Experience in a warehouse-type environment/sortation facility
• Experience in an automated sortation facility
• Experience training shunt drivers
• Demonstrated safety leadership in a fast-paced warehouse-type environment
• Experience communicating with all levels of business
• Experience managing unionized and non-unionized employees
• Experience in Project Management
Experience in Lean methodologies – Yellow and Green Belt Certification (an asset)
Skills
Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
