Description
Under the direction of the Divisional Manager Security and Loss Prevention Eastern Region, The Manager Loss Prevention will proactively drive loss prevention performance, awareness and continuous improvement as it relates to policies and procedures, losses and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a daily presence in their assigned terminals, with the goal of building partnerships, trust, open communication, andan understanding of daily operations.
- Proactively review and use available loss prevention reporting and intelligence-based techniques to trend and identify theft.
- Carry out Investigations:
- Support internal departments in investigating shipment losses within the established commodities and/or where lossesindicate a pattern of potential theft.
- Generate detailed investigation reports into theft and non-compliance.
- Conduct interviews.
- Develop and execute loss prevention strategies, as well as conducting risk assessments to:
- Reduce loss and damage claims.
- Reduce exposure to risks and mitigate losses.
- Drive innovation through recommendations
- Partner with the Sales, National Accounts and Claims Departments to resolve customer complaints and deliver on our promise of exceptional customer service.
- Conduct audits to drive compliance and performance:
- Policy and procedure compliance audits.
- Customer packaging compliance and piece counts.
- Participate and lead calls with the stakeholders.
- Provide support and security system reviews in alignment with enforcing Purolator’s Health and Safety goals, and our policyof a WVH free environment for all.
- Take the Initiative to organize and plan security guard services as required for holidays and emergencies.
Education
- Private Security Office License (BSP)
- Wicklander-Zulawski - Non-confrontational interview certification
Experience
- Management experience with both internal security teams and third party security guards:
- Budget/Accruals
- Scheduling (fulltime guards and ad hoc security guard needs across the Quebec region)
- Mobile Patrols
- Performance reviews
- Conflict resolution skills
- Experience working in a distribution center environment is a plus:
- Secure yard and gate management
- Employee screening (x-ray, metal detectors)
- CTPAT and/or TAPA knowledge
- Security system knowledge:

- Alarm systems
- Card access
- Security cameras
Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
