Job Description:

Purolator is seeking a Regional Field Engineering Specialist II to join our team in support of our main induction center in Canada. This role operates in an operations/warehouse environment and plays a pivotal role in data collection, transportation, distribution, maintenance, statistical and mapping analysis. As a Regional Field Engineering Specialist II, you will design tailored solutions, collaborate with the operations team, and implement processes and procedures to support Purolator International's expanding needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Customized Solutions: Collect and analyze data, leveraging statistical and mapping analysis to design customized solutions that enhance operational efficiency.

  • IT Business Solutions: Support the implementation and design of IT-related business solutions, creating models and tools used by Analysts and Operations personnel daily.

  • Initiative Implementation: Identify and drive short to medium-term initiatives focused on improving service quality, productivity, cost-effectiveness, and safety.

  • Operational Support: Provide operational support, assist with layout and design, standards development, process optimization, and statistical analysis to inform trending and forecasting.

  • Process Enhancement: Improve operational planning processes by developing productivity standards, enhancing current business processes, and upholding best practices.

  • Logistics Metrics: Develop, improve, and oversee logistics standard metrics, collaborating with Finance and Senior Leadership to ensure accountability to targets.

  • Collaboration: Work with Operations, Transportation, and IT to implement tools, redesign processes, and layouts to boost productivity, reduce costs, and maximize service levels.

  • Project Management: Utilize project management skills to develop and execute action plans, providing realistic timelines and resource requirements to achieve goals.

  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team to accomplish assigned goals and participate in cross-functional groups to achieve desired customer outcomes.

  • Systems Analysis: Analyze systems and processes, providing recommendations for achieving a common operating picture.

  • Logistics Information Systems: Apply expertise in logistics information systems and ensure processes and procedures are aligned to support warehouse operations.

  • Cost Savings: Ensure solutions provide cost savings while optimizing operational effectiveness.

  • Problem Resolution: Quickly resolve situations, communicate problem statuses, and collaborate with subject matter experts until resolution.

  • Customer Interaction: Interact with internal and external customers as needed to ensure excellent service delivery.

 

Qualifications:

  • Exemplify and consistently demonstrate core competencies in communication, innovation, change management, relationship building, and leadership.

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in an Engineering or Logistics position.

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (industrial engineering preferred).

  • Strong proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and database software.

  • Proficiency with MapInfo, AutoCAD, and computer-based simulation software is an asset.

  • Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an asset.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.

  • Proven ability to effectively implement change and foster a team-based culture within a unionized environment.

  • Self-reliant and adaptable to changes in a dynamic environment.

  • Proficient knowledge in freight and cross-dock operations.

  • Proficient knowledge of Import/Export operations.
