Job Description

  • Work closely with the Divisional HR Manager, District Managers and local management to champion employee loyalty and to support Purolator's values
  • Promote positive employee involvement, development and relationship building
  • Provide support and direction to local management teams (operations, sales, retail, fleet) on all areas of human resources
  • Coach and develop a team of HR Professionals to ensure the implementation and consistent practice of HR policies and initiatives
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of administrative systems to support HR functions
  • Responsible for providing proactive employee/labour relations, contract interpretation and administration, grievance handling and arbitration preparation.
  • Assist in areas such as workforce planning, talent management, performance management, attendance management, claims management and accommodation
  • Ensure adherence to collective agreements and employment legislation
  • Partner with internal customers to ensure exceptional service and results
  • Provide status updates to Divisional HR Manager and Departmental Managers on regional issues and initiatives
  • Assist in developing and facilitating training and recruitment and selection initiatives
  • Promote employee equity and diversity
  • Actively support health and safety initiatives and awareness
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership
  • 3 - 5 years experience as an HR Generalist
  • 2 years' Purolator HR experience is an asset
  • HR related degree/diploma
  • Must possess experience and knowledge of labour relations including contract interpretation, as well as other employment legislation
  • Demonstrates high energy, internal motivation
  • Approachable, supportive, visible HR practitioner
  • Skilled, persuasive communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels
  • Resourceful, flexible, innovative
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
