Description

Location: 1866 King Edward Street, Winnipeg MB

 

Working Hours: Part Time, 15 hours per week

 

Schedule varies as required

 

Wage: $18.72 per hour

 

The Relief Sorter sorts and separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules.  Called in as needed to cover shifts part-time. Does not conform to a regular schedule; weekly hours only.

Responsibilities

Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks
Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out
Load freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer
Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles
Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items
Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery.
 

 

Requirements

  • No experience necessary
  • Proper scan and load techniques
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a time sensitive environment
  • Willingness to work as part of a team
  • Attention to process, quality and/or operational standards
  • Successfully complete a criminal record check and employment verification to qualify
  • Obtain a clear Police Clearance Certificate when required
