Job Description

Responsible for developing overall sales efforts for a North American region.  Develops, plans, implements, and executes sales strategies to meet business objectives and achieve maximum results.  Continually evaluates the timely adjustment of sales plans to meet changing competitive conditions.  Direct and coordinate the efforts of sales managers and personnel toward the accomplishment of corporate objectives. Accountable for managing revenue and growing the business through net new logos and share of wallet.


The successful candidate will

  • Establish plans and strategy to achieve Growth-Retention-Yield objectives aligned to corporate objectives and strategy
  • Hire and retain top talent and establish career path, development plans and succession plans. Ensure the appropriate skills training is provided. Create a culture of excellence by inspiring and motivating the team
  • Develop go to market focus and strategy to grow, retain, and drive yield across territory/team of approximately $200-$250M
  • Manage operating budget consisting of personnel and T&E for region Forecasting. Prepare forecasts for North American Geographic region
  • Ensure Maximum ROI – highest level of sales volume and profits, at minimum cost (Example: drive optimal territory coverage and sales deployment)
  • Enable and drive the sales execution against the plan and strategy
  • Directly lead Regional Sales Managers and their teams across Canada and the U.S.
  • Engage directly with customers across North American region
  • Establish collaborative, strong, and trustful relationships with cross functional teams such as Marketing, Operations and Revenue Management to ensure driving good fit profitable business
  • Build strong relationships across the sales organization such as vertical and SMB channels, Sales operations, and enablement
  • Work collaboratively with sales development team to help facilitate leads and growth for region
  • Be a key player on the top management team and driving profitable results for the company 
  • Set specific, detailed, and measurable expectations for Regional Sales Managers
  • Analyze regional or industry market to determine the most productive sales strategies
  • Achieve & exceed Sales quotas (at individual & sales team level)
  • Remove obstacles from the path of both the RSMs and their respective team members to enable better sales execution.  Play an active role in assisting RSM with planning for continuous improvements
  • Monitors opportunity probability and viability using Solution Selling® tools and methodologies
  • Encourage enhanced communication using email, conference calls, regularly scheduled region and division meetings and skip level meetings



  • Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in Sales, Marketing, or business-related field or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of sales experience with at least 5 years in a management position with a proven track record in coaching and developing sales teams
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, and oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain trusting customer relationships
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive, and have a high-energetic approach to problem solving
  • Strong supply chain specialist knowledge
  • Experience in developing plans and strategies to drive results and inspire teams giving a sense of pride and purpose
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Customers, Account Executives, Sales Leadership, Vendors, and internal Stakeholders
  • Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership University degree
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication and negotiations skills and ability to work with C-Suite executive level contacts
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Customers, Strategic Account Executives, Sales Leadership, Vendors, internal Stakeholder and possibly Board level
  • Represents the voice of customers which may influence board level strategy
  • Ability to develop high level PowerPoint Presentations and contributing to strategic client meetings up to the CEO level; advanced presentation skills are required
  • Demonstrated personal development commitment
  • Ability to work under stressful situations and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple activities
  • Hub/ Depot/Supply Chain Operations knowledge and experience
