Analyst Compensation

Description

As a Compensation Analyst at Purolator, you'll play a critical role in shaping our future by crafting, implementing, communicating, and administering compensation programs. Your expertise in job evaluation, pay equity, and compensation will be instrumental in ensuring fairness and competitiveness within our organization.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Compensation, in this role, you will:

  • Conducting thorough job evaluations to determine appropriate classifications, pay grades, and compensation structures.
  • Collaborating with HR and departmental teams to maintain accurate job descriptions aligned with organizational goals and industry standards.
  • Acting as a consultant to HR on job documentation, job evaluation and compensation matters.
  • Developing internal training materials related to compensation best practices.
  • Providing guidance on pay equity principles and regulations, including conducting analyses and implementing corrective strategies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Analyzing compensation data to identify trends and support decision-making on compensation strategies.
  • Managing job structures within our systems, including maintaining the job description database, job evaluation master files, and overseeing job creations.
  • Preparing various reports and analyses to monitor the integrity and competitiveness of our compensation programs.
  • Gathering data from various systems (SuccessFactors) and conducting data audits and analyses to identify discrepancies, coordinating with relevant parties for corrections.
  •  Participating in policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Providing support in compensation-related projects and communications.
  • Perform other related duties as required or requested.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a compensation analysis or consulting roles, with a focus on job evaluation and pay equity regulations and maintenance strategy.
  • Strong understanding of job evaluation methodologies, job classification systems, compensation structures, and pay equity regulations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with SAP/SuccessFactors system, particularly the compensation module. 
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual (French/English) an asset, but not required.

Work Environment

  • Typical office environment, hybrid, occasional site visits may be required.
