Description

The District Manager provides leadership and operational oversight for multiple geographically dispersed districts and facilities. This role is responsible for developing high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. The District Manager is accountable for achieving business objectives, managing budgets, maximizing profitability, and safeguarding company assets while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Managers and Team Leaders across multiple locations.
  • Set performance expectations, monitor results, and drive accountability.
  • Foster employee engagement, continuous improvement, and effective labour relations.
  • Ensure consistent application of collective agreements, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through Health & Safety leadership and accident investigation.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Maintain operational records, systems, and documentation.
  • Oversee district operations to achieve service, productivity, and quality objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Manage Trak3 operations, facility maintenance, contractor services, and site infrastructure.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through visibility, accuracy, and on-time service.
  • Collaborate with operational and customer service teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Monitor service metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and district assets to meet operational and financial objectives.
  • Improve productivity, profitability, and revenue capture.
  • Ensure billing accuracy and support business growth through cross-functional collaboration.

Required Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of the transportation, logistics, or courier industry.
  • Knowledge of unionized work environments and labour relations.
  • Strong computer proficiency and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

Experience

  • 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in a similar operational management role.
  • Experience managing multiple locations and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience establishing, measuring, and maintaining operational standards.
  • Proven success in customer relationship management and operational performance improvement.
