Description

Reporting to the Sr Consultant Return to Work, the RTW Coordinator assists the RTW Specialist in the administration of WCB/CNESST claims and providing disability management support for occupational injuries and/or illnesses. The RTW Coordinator will gather investigation details and formwork to assist in WCB/CNESST reporting and where applicable, objections.  Additionally, the RTW Coordinator will assist Operations with disability management, early and safe return-to-work and temporary accommodation for all non-complex cases, ensuring compliance with legislation and corporate policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the RTW Specialist and Operations on non-complex, Workers’ Compensation (WCB)/CNESST claims, disability management and return-to-work ensuring operational compliance with legislation and regulations, corporate policies and procedures.
  • Reminds Operations and business partners of their administrative role for incident reporting in the H & S software system along with reporting to the provincial WCB/CNESST Boards.
  • Keeps detailed case notes of all actions on the claim and uploaded relevant documentation into the H&S software system.
  • Assist and monitor all active, non-complex return to work plans, track progress, adjust where required
  • Promotes the Return-to-Work Program by meeting with injured employees and Operations to recommend modified work in the workplace or at home.  
  • Oversees accuracy of reporting and tracking of all workplace injuries/illnesses and absences into the H & S software system.  Follows up with Operations and H& S for incomplete information/formwork to ensure compliance and positioned for objections (where applicable)
  • With support from the RTW Specialists, creates objection letters for the WCB/CNESST for lost-time and entitlement when required.   

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assists the RTW Specialist in management of IMEs: schedule appointment, write the mandate, receive expert report and do the first analysis
  • Handles Medical Evaluation Bureau (bureau d’évaluation médicale – BEM) requests (Qc only)
  • Works with provincial WCB/CNESST board, and in collaboration with RTW specialist, to request and  receive documents and files from WCB/CNESST
  • Collaboratives with RTW Specialist, Health and Safety, Operations, and other business partners to positively impact metrics relating to injury/illness and disability management outcomes
  • Populate, review for accuracy and submit Employer’s Report of Injury/Illness
  • Upload all critical information/docs into the H & S software along with requesting claim decisions in writing

Education

University degree preferably in human resources, health care, social services, Kinesiology is preferred

Experience

  • Verbal and written communication in French and English
  • Knowledge or experience in disability management preferred (WCB and CNESST).
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (ie. Human Rights, WCB/CNESST, Privacy laws, Health & Safety, Labour Code)
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract that meets Purolator’s insurance requirements
